Opened in 2007 on gorgeous rolling hills just off I-5 about two hours north of Sacramento, Sevillano Links was an immediate sensation not only for its treeless, wide-open links-like beauty and playability, but for its "big dog" personality thanks to the design input of John Daly. Two par 5s stretch to well over 600 yards from the tips, and in fact every hole can be played as a par 5 thanks to a set of secret tees. In its standard configuration, Sevillano sizzles with well-placed forced carries over native grasses and wetlands, imaginative but not overwhelming bunkering and some of the biggest, baddest greens in the Golden State. Couple your round with some play in the Rolling Hills Casino and a stay in one of two onsite hotels, and you've got a quick, affordable getaway that brings a bit of Britain to the West Coast.
