Tucked into a scenic corner of Lower Klamath Lake, Running Y marked the King's first foray into Oregon as a designer, and the result was spectacular thanks to an incredible piece of land and well-thought-out master plan for the entire Running Y second home/resort community. The first few holes skirt the lake itself, highlighted by the rousing, rocky par 3 5th, then head for the forest for the remainder of the front nine, while the back nine mixes heathland, forest and pond-side settings to keep players engaged and wondering what visual and strategic marvels are coming next. The final stretch is one of the state's best. Lodge, chalet, townhome and full-sized home rentals are available onsite, and new shopping and dining amenities were added in 2009. It's a stellar all-inclusive getaway destination.
